1st Division

1st Division is an official Division of DI.Community and is part of House Sabre. It was established in September 2012, with Stronghold Kingdoms as their primary game, and is an original member of Battle Group Trident. It saw an inactive period of over a year after their success on SHK's World 6, but was reactivated in December 2015 with the release of Europe 3 earlier that year, and later again in December 2016 (after SHK died out) with Rust. 1st Division has managed to split its Division twice, in September 2012 and September 2017, has three major tournaments on its name, has achieved Super Division Status once, but has yet to win a Community Competition.

It is lead by a Division Commander, who is responsible for leading that Division from a tactical standpoint within their particular game, and a Vice, who acts as the 2nd-in-command of the Division and is responsible for managing the respective Division its events and oversee its new members.

History

The 1st Division traces it roots back to the origins of Damage Inc in September 2012. As Stronghold Kingdoms announced their plans to release a new world on September 23rd, GreatJackal, LLR, and KonArtis came together to create Damage Incorporated and established the first two Divisions. Under leadership of GreatJackal, 1st Division quickly grew in-game and became the number one ranked faction on World 6. Continuing their success, 3rd Division was established later that week but fell just as quick as it couldn't remain complaint.

As DI acquired many enemies across the world, the famous Anti Farming Unit (AFU) was created a few months later. Their name relates to their infamous mission to raze out "farmers" in the English Alliance (of which DI was apart of), led by Ying the Mighty, that were not contributing to the war effort. While this created some tension between DI and the rest of the Alliance, it also motivated the Alliance to not sit idle while DI did all the heavy lifting. The AFU was a Team in 1st Division, led by Team Leader (Captain) DukeBane and included power players such as LordLars and Strongandbald. These heavy hitters were sent to various areas of the map to form a beachhead for the rest of DI and the Alliance to follow.

Nearing the end of 2012, GreatJackal handed over command of 1st Division to Lord Stephanie so that he could focus on the overall community strategy. Even though 1st Division saw some spectacular initial victories in their on-going war, they eventually had to conduct a withdrawal. With pressure and stress heating up, Lord Stephanie eventually resigned from command and left Damage Inc begin March. Meanwhile, the catastrophic defeat of the 3rd Division and losses that were piling up on 1st and 2nd Division were having a major impact on DI's morale. After several weeks, a decision was made to disband 2nd Division and move their members into the 1st Division. LLR, as Commander of 2nd Division, took Command of these amalgamated forces. Plummeting even lower, many members started to leave or joined the opposition. While keeping the fight alive for a while, they eventually lost the war on World 6.

Around June 2013, LegendCrusader approached GreatJackal and KonArtis about re-establishing the 1st Division on World 6. By mid-June, the redeployment plan was in place and LegendCrusader was appointed as Commander of 1st Division with orders to retake territory that belonged to DI and rebuild our presence on World 6 which he eventually did. By July 2013, DI was doing once more what it does best: Win Wars. 1st Division secured several of DI's old home base territories as well as negotiating DI into the top alliance at the time, which allowed DI to quickly rise to one of the dominant powers once more on World 6.

Joining the VNG revolt in February 2014, the betrayal by LegendCrusader and the complete loss of the 1st Division took DI by surprise. It was the largest revolt ever experienced by DI and involved multiple Divisions. 1st Division however wasn't unoccupied for long as it was reactivated by Mid-April 2014. With initial success in the Elder Scrolls Online Venture, Oshanix was appointed Commander of 1st Division and the Venture given Division honors. Unfortunately, the game lacked adequate support and with all the distraction of the leadership turmoil in the community, they started tanking before eventually being disbanded after a long and unbroken reign as one of the most powerful Divisions in Damage Inc. Although 3rd and 5th Division, that were SHK based, technically were amalgamated and known as 1st Division under General Loseeki in September 2014, we consider it as inactive for simplicity's sake.

It wasn't until December 2015 that 1st Division would be re-activated again. Earlier that year, old veterans like Frosty, LLR and KingDru stepped up and saved DI from what would've been certain death. In a last ditched effort to save Damage Inc and make Stronghold Kingdoms a Division again, they created a new venture upon release of SHK's Europe 3 server. With LLR spearheading the group and getting them into the leading House, they quickly grew in size. Although they met many betrayals and fought heavy wars, the venture lasted the Dark Ages of DI. With a lot of recruitment and achieving Division status, the Division had been entrusted to the command of Frosty in December 2015. While they suppressed and defeated the German Alliance earlier in Age 1, after more betrayals by allies they started to work together with the Germans against a common enemy. With Frosty in command, they achieved Victory by winning the 2nd age in January of 2016 - earning them a Laurel Triumph. By end February, Frosty stepped down and handed over Command of 1st Division to Specctre - who previously served as Vice and played a big part in the survival of the Venture during the Dark Ages of DI. Continuing their efforts, he obtained their 2nd Triumph by winning the 3rd Age on April 26th - becoming the only person in Damage Inc to date to have won the legendary laurel triumph titled “Victor" twice.

By August 2016, Saniagh had been in Command of 1st Division for 3 months. While having moderate success in-game, as new alliances were formed, they were able to maintain Division status and prepare for the upcoming Domination World. Spearheading DI into the Alliance that took control of this new server, they were able to play along with the top factions. Little did they know that this promised war-heavy 'domination' server turned out to be a farming world. With little opposition, they were able to deal with any rogues fairly quickly. As member churn catched up, they were disbanded in early October 2016 due to a lack of members.

Fortunately, a new game had laid its eye on DI. Within one evening, GreatJackal was able to successfully recruit an entire Rust Division. Granting them Division status on November 1st, Addulous was appointed as the Division Commander. Resembling Stronghold Kingdoms in it's strategic and military like gameplay, their initial success quickly stagnated. While remaining between 20 - 30 members for multiple months, toxicity was high and revolts common. It wasn't until Falx was appointed as Commander of 1st Division in May 2017 that the Division stabilized and activity rose. Falx wasted no time in completely turning everything around in a record time and was able to grow it to 40+ members. After serving for 3 months, he left 1st Division to lead the Branding & Design team in HQ. Evani took over as Commander and was able to split 1st Division on September 15th. Even though he got it back above 50+ members, numbers began to dwell as soon as he left. With revolts occurring on a frequent basis, 1st Division once again entered a turbulent time.

Since October 1st, Raptor successfully managed and maintained multiple teams in Rust as Commander of 16th Division. As only competent Commander, he made the switch to 1st Division by the end of December. Making quick work to throw the toxic members out, he made it compliant and brought it back above 50+ members. By the time he had revitalised 1st Division, several Commanders had turned rogue in 16th Division by inciting revolt or committing treason. Forced to switch back to his original Division, he restored it to the glory it once held. On April 1st 2018, Dataside passed initiation and was officially promoted to Commander of 1st Division. Investing heavily in recruiting and events, he managed to become 2nd in the Division Standings that month. Little did anyone know he was on a path to greatness. Showing the importance a strong Commander has on his Division, Dataside managed to break an old community record by having 100 members in his Division on May 18th and ultimately achieved Super Division Status on June 29th, before taking command of the newly formed Realm Royale Division on July 1st.

LegendCrusader

One of DI's most "legendary" and loved Commanders of his time, Legend (LegendCrusader) took control of the fated 1st Division of DI in a crumbling state. The 1st Division once enjoyed supremacy across World 6 SHK as the #1 faction for the first 200 days, and was the "mother" Division of DI, setting the base of the future to come. This future was made short after the 1st Division suffered a crushing defeat, and a significant amount of casualties in fighting and was forced underground with little hope in the future. Along came Legend, who accepted the post of Commander 1st Division, with the sole mission from DI Leadership to rebuild and restructure DI influence in World 6 SHK. It took many months of hard work, recruitment and effort, but he did it. Using outstanding leadership and inspiration through events such as division competitions to motivate his division to succeed, and with limited resources, he returned DI to a top 10 division from nothing, with many of its former enemies fearing its rise to power. Legend has maintained the morale and motivation of the 1st Division to a very high standard due to his effective leadership style, and it was one of the most well coordinated and effective fighting teams in DI. Ultimately winning the 1st Age on July 14th 2013, he received a laurel triumph for his achievement. More than half a year later Legend however betrayed DI by joining a revolt clan, with many members following - which led to the complete loss of the 1st Division.

Frosty

Being one of Damage Inc's oldest members Frosty is known for his ongoing loyalty and dedication to growth of the community. As Venture Leader of SHK Europe 3 he exceeded beyond and above everyone's expectations to pull DI out of the Dark Ages with the resurrection of 1st Division. Diplomatic and feared by his enemies, he was one of the front members of 1st Division that secured the victory in the 2nd Age of that world. In advance of achieving this he maintained a tight and organized Division which helped shape the future for Damage Inc. bringing back Stronghold Kingdoms from the dead. This later resulted in Stronghold Kingdoms being DI's primary game once again from 2016 with 3 Divisions that held a lot of potential leaders. As one of the longest active members of Damage Inc. Before we saw Frosty pass to the afterlife after years of great service to Damage Inc, he was a member of the First 9 and will forever be known in Damage Inc's history.

Specctre

Specctre began his journey with Damage Inc in June 2015 and has served in a wide variety of officer positions including Division Vice and Command of 1st Division, later becoming the only person in Damage Inc to date to have won the legendary laurel triumph titled “Victor” twice when he helped lead 1st Division to seize two major victories in January and April 2016 forever sealing Damage Inc in the Stronghold Kingdom’s hall of fame. After his tenure with 1st Division, Specctre was appointed to the prestigious post of Aide-de-Camp to the Leader based on his famous cool, calm and collected leadership style. Here Specctre excelled, playing a huge part in the collection and display of information on DI’s site, scribing part of the history and assisting hundreds of members, officers and members of leadership to ensure people have what they need to do well. Specctre’s impact in the leadership circles has been absolutely priceless and he will forever be known for his legacy as a legendary and decorated officer of Damage Inc.

Dataside

Dataside's journey began after Raptor switched from 16th to 1st Division, in order to save it from collapse, by filling in for his former 2IC who got promoted to Team Leader of Team B. Going above and beyond what was expected of him he got promoted to Team Leader of Team C himself. Aiding Raptor in rebuilding 1st Division, he merged Team B and Team C together, and worked on activity and retention. With the leadership skills he presented, he got promoted to Commander after Raptor switched back to save 16th Division. Showing the importance a strong Commander has on his Division, Dataside continued to lead 1st Division to greatness by achieving to have 100 active members during May 2018. This was the first time any Commander ever managed to pull this off, and not without an incredible amount of effort and commitment. After a 3 month tenure as Commander of 1st Division, he achieved Super Divisions status on June 29th, before setting out to Command the newly formed Division of Realm Royale in July 2018.

Community Competitions

From time to time Damage Inc. holds Community Competitions to determine which Division is the best. Different factors come in to play each time to determine the winner for the competition.
